Veterinary Fees

People often worry about how much it is going to cost to treat their pets or the costs associated with providing proper preventive healthcare for their pets. Before you attend the surgery you can always make enquiries by telephone or email to ask us about likely costs. The fees associated with common surgical procedures (neutering), consultations and vaccinations are attached here: Price_List_01.03.24.

Some services are free of charge. For example, we provide FREE health examinations for pets needing prescription flea, worm and tick prevention products, and FREE consultations for dental health checks. Our Nursing Team runs free consultations to offer advice for new puppies, kittens, rabbits, and small furries, and to guide on various conditions including running weight, diabetes, and arthritis management clubs.

During a consultation with the Veterinary Surgeon, the costs of any treatment plans (and options for the same) will be discussed, including options and time for payment (we work with a company called Carefree Credit to help spread the costs of some treatments). For most treatments (including investigations or surgery) we will prepare an estimate, pre-operative instructions, explanation sheets (on the procedure, blood and other tests required) and notes about anaesthesia.

We will always see you in an emergency and there are often options as to how emergency treatments are managed. In some cases, we can work with charities to help you with costs (often means tested).

We also run a monthly payment health plan for dogs, cats and rabbits, which covers the costs associated with preventive health medicine and offers additional discounts on some procedures, diets, long-term medications and so on.

For written prescription costs, see the price list above. With the exception of controlled drugs, written prescriptions will provide for 3-6 months of medication, depending on the condition being treated, and how often we need to see you.

We hope the above is helpful. If you have any worries over costs then please get in touch with us first.
